The Dialysis Center of the Mirandola Hospital is part of the Simple Departmental Department of Nephrology of the Northern area, which is based in Carpi and Mirandola. The structure depends on the Intercompany Department of Integrated Nephrology, Cardiac and Vascular Diseases, which brings together all the operative units of cardiology, rehabilitation cardiology, nephrology and vascular surgery present in the hospitals of the USL Company and the University Hospital of Modena. At the Dialysis Center, patients suffering from chronic renal failure are subjected to a blood purification process with an extracorporeal circuit for which dialysis is a life-saving treatment.

Access

The Dialysis Center is located on the ground floor of the old Hospital pavilion, and is located under the Medical Operative Unit. It can be accessed from the central concierge or from the new pavilion, without architectural barriers. Patients with walking difficulties may be accompanied by car near the access ramp. Wheelchairs for transporting patients with walking difficulties are available in the atrium of the main entrance and at the Center. Access to the clinic is on the opposite side of the Dialysis Center, where the main entrance to the old hospital was located.

The Center has 12 positions for dialysis treatment and a room with a bed for patients needing protective isolation. It is equipped with a waiting room, with changing rooms for patients and toilets. Two rooms in the Center are used for outpatient activities performed by the doctors of the Operational Unit.
Access Performance

access to the dialysis treatment occurs after evaluation and preparation of the patients by the medical personnel of the Departmental Simple Structure Nephrology of the North area and is reserved for stabilized chronic dialysis patients.

Dialysis activity takes place both in the morning (Saturday included) and in the afternoon; in the morning there is a nephrologist doctor to help patients in more complex clinical conditions. The entire staff is dedicated to the prevention of kidney disease through the Nephrology Day Service and outpatient activities, as well as ensuring nephrological consultations in the hospital, in case of need.

Access to the specialist nephrology clinic takes place by booking a CUP (Single Booking Center) and there is the possibility of an urgent visit by direct telephone agreement with the General Practitioner.

The family is not allowed access to the dialysis room.

Information

Transport

The organization and the costs related to transport at the Dialysis Center of a non self-sufficient patient and / or with significant clinical problems are totally at the expense of the USL Company.

The certification of non-self-sufficiency and / or significant clinical problem, is by the nephrologist doctor of the Dialysis Center.

For patients who reach the Center by autonomous means or with a transport organized by the Local Authority, the reimbursement is equal to one fifth of the cost of the petrol for each kilometer traveled with own car (or in any case used) from their home to the Center and vice versa .

The reimbursement is paid upon presentation to the basic medicine service of the monthly dialysis table carried out countersigned by the co-ordinator of the Dialysis Center.

The attestation for the employer

The attestation for the employer can be requested from the staff in service.

Complaints and Suggestions

The USL Company ensures the protection of citizens wishing to lodge a complaint, a proposal, an observation, an eulogy regarding the services or health services provided. To this end specific management procedures have been set up to detect and respond quickly to situations of hardship and dissatisfaction. To exercise this right you can:

Taking charge

The Structure communicates to the patient and to the persons authorized by him, the name of the reference doctor, information on the treatment plan and any diagnostic investigations and therapeutic procedures deemed appropriate.
